Almost nobody walks into a session feeling photogenic, and that's fine — that's simply the starting point, not a problem to fix. I'll usually give you one or two simple prompts to break the ice, then step back and let real expression take over. Most of what ends up in your gallery happens in the thirty seconds after the posed shot, once you've stopped thinking about the camera.

This works whether you're here for a headshot, a family update, a couple's session, or just wanting decent photos of yourself for once. Different occasion, same approach: enough direction to feel steady, enough room for it to actually look like you.

None of this is a performance you have to get right. I'm not grading your smile or timing the "natural" moment for you — I'm just paying attention, staying ready, and taking the shot when it's actually there. If a pose feels stiff, we drop it. If you crack up mid-shot because this whole thing feels silly, that's usually the best frame of the whole session, not a blooper to delete.
